FXTM, better known as Forex Time, is a renowned, well established forex & CFD brokerage company who were founded in 2011. Over the years, they have experienced rapid expansion and they have a corporate structure made up of 3 entities that cater to its 3 bases of operations – Cyprus, U.K & Mauritius. With FXTM, clients can trade forex as well as precious metals like gold and silver. They can also trade gas and crude oil. Equity indices, cryptocurrencies and CFDs can also be traded of the FXTM platform across major American stocks and shares. With FXTM, you can also trade stocks directly, not wrapped in CFDs, where the trader assumes direct legal claim of the shares when buying them. Basically like a traditional stock broker.

FXTM are very well regulated across several jurisdictions. It has bases in 3 countries, and has 3 different corporate branches for each. They are regulated by the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC). They are also registered with the U.K's Financial Conduct Authority. Exinity limited (an arm of FXTM) is regulated by the Financial Services Commission (FSC) of the republic of Mauritius. Having such a multi-jurisdictional set up, FXTM can differentiate its offerings based on where its traders are located. Keep in mind that acquiring regulation is not an easy task, so for FXTM to be regulated in 3 different countries is a testament to their credibility. With such regulation, customers can be sure that their monies and assets are secure and that all transactions are monitored to make sure international trading guidelines are followed.

When looking for a forex/CFD broker to trade with, the total fees charges is something worth considering. The average round-trip fee of trading EUR/USD forex currency pairs is 2 pips with FXTM's standard account. This is just a little bit on the high side when compared to other broker fees. As for the Cent account (this is FXTM's account with the lowest minimum deposit - $10), the fees are a bit higher at 2.2 pips. For the ECN account, it is considerably lower at 0.8 pips. This is quite considerable since the minimum deposit is only $500 for this account type. These levels of spreads and commissions are very competitive on the ECN side, especially for customers with low deposit amounts. The minimum deposit needed to open a “true” ECN account is just $500. This is quite competitive for traders depositing anything close to this sum. As for traders who are depositing larger sums (in the thousands), they would find the trading fees to be average. FXTM are very transparent with regards to their overnight financing rates, and this is a sign of trustworthiness. Brokers don’t usually publish their existing rates, but clients can find them on FXTM’s trading platforms.

With FXTM, you can trade more than 57 currency pairs and crosses. These include exotic currencies. You can also trade a narrow selection of commodities including crude oil and natural gas. That’s not all, you can as well trade 11 major equity indices which are offered from about 10 countries. You can also trade –

  • Metals
  • Cryptocurrencies
  • U.S shares as CFDs
  • U.S shares (direct ownership)
  • FXTM has a wide range of tradable assets and this is very favorable for traders looking to be diverse.

FXTM offers 6 different account types that are grouped into two.
These are Standard Accounts & ECN Accounts. The difference between these account types are the execution costs which are restricted to variable spreads, subject to a minimum amount, and variable spreads subject to no minimum plus commission (ECN). Each of these execution models have their advantages and disadvantages, so it’s up to the trader to choose which works best for them. Let’s take a look at each of these accounts.

The Cent Account You can open this account with a minimum deposit of $10. The account can be denominated in USD, EUR, GBO or the Naira ( for traders residing in Nigeria). With this account, variable spreads are charged and are subject to the highest minimums imposed by FXTM.

The Standard Account With this account, a minimum deposit of $100 is required. Customers can use the MT4 or MT5 trading platforms with this account. This account grants traders the full range of forex, metals, commodities and equity indices. The maximum position size per trade is 30 lots (which is equivalent to $3 million in nominal value).

The Shares Account This account is limited to the MT4 trader platform. More than 120 U.S shares can be traded wrapped as CFDs. This account offers a fixed leverage of 10 to 1, and a maximum position size per trade of 10 lots is offered.

The ECN Zero Account This account requires a minimum deposit of $200, and no commission is charged. The minimum floating score is 1.5 pips. Using the MT4 trading platform with this account, you can trade 48 forex currency pairs and crosses, 3 metals and 14 CFDs.

The ECN Account A minimum deposit of $500 is required to open this account and it has a minimum of 0.1 pips on the variable floating spread.

The FXTM Pro Account This account is designed for well advanced traders and it requires a minimum deposit of $25,000 to open. There are no commissions charged on this account and the variable spread may fall to as low as zero.

FXTM uses the MT4 and MT5 trading platforms, although clients who run the Cent Account and the Shares Account are limited to the MT4 trading platform.
This is still ideal for most traders since the MT4 platform is still widely used.

FXTM has an educational platform that is made up of E-Books, forex trading seminars, educational videos and forex trading strategies.

FXTM's customer support is available 24 hours a day on 5 business days. They also cater to a wide range of nationals as their customer service comes in diverse languages.

I trust this FXTM review has been helpful. Good luck!
